For me, monotype is an exploration of uniqueness and impermanence: an art-printing process in which a sheet of gelatin becomes a fragile bridge between image and surface.
Through this process, a photograph is transferred onto paper, transformed in the very act of printing.
Each monotype exists only once.
No repetition, no exact copy: the matrix, derived from a photographic print, produces a single impression before disappearing. What remains is a trace, a moment captured but never to be repeated.
This layering of techniques allows the image to evolve, to move away from its origins and to take on a life of its own.
All my monotypes originate from my photographic work, which serves both as a starting point and as material for transformation.
