Omnia Vanitas

This portfolio explores the automobile as a symbol of social status, desire, and recognition. Some images celebrate its symbolic value: new, meticulously maintained cars, set within contexts that emphasize prestige and aspiration, as if they were direct extensions of their owners’ identities.

As the sequence unfolds, however, the aura of perfection begins to fade. The car is removed from its ideal context and placed within everyday life: ordinary parking lots, marginal spaces, and signs of wear that reveal its temporary nature.

The portfolio ultimately leads to abandonment: faded bodies of metal, forgotten wrecks, objects that have lost their function and centrality. Through this transformation, the meaning of the project emerges: status, however powerful, is always ephemeral and destined to dissolve over time.
