Monotype is a unique fine art printing technique that uses a sheet of glass or perspex to transfer a unique image to a sheet of paper. No two monotypes are equal and the created matrix can only be used once.
Monotype engraving techniques may include the combination of artistic and multimedia methods such as painting and drawing with lithography, engraving or woodcut. Monotype prints are unique, spontaneous and expressive, allowing more space for abstract compositions and more detailed prints than other types of print.
